Just lovely for a special occasion!

Just lovely for a special occasion!

I’ve been collecting wine corks for a while and today I’m showing you one way to make use of them: Name Tags! Are you having guests? Let them know where to sit with cork and thin cardboard. To make these you’ll need wine corks, one for every guest at the table. You also need thin cardboard or thick paper to write the names on, I’ve used the grey recycled cardboard from the back of a college notebook. And of course, you’ll need a utility knife and a marker.

Just lovely for a center table!

Just lovely for a center table!

If you're a cork collector like me, this DIY project is for you. Wine drinkers know how many leftover corks you can accumulate over the years, so let's put them to use! Not only do I love wine, but I love using cork for crafting projects. It's easy to cut, naturally waterproof with a beautiful rustic look, and it has a cushion material that makes for the perfect handmade placemat.

The DIY possibilities are endless by simply gluing corks together. You can also make coasters, table runners, trivets, floor mats or cork boards, just to name a few. Make one for yourself or maybe a gift for a wine lover? The best part is, if you know how to use a glue gun, you'll be a pro at this project.

Lovely cork pendant.

share a simple, inexpensive gift idea, I jumped right on board, and then thought, "crap. what if I can't come up with anything?" I bet that gives you a boost of confidence in what you're about to read, right?! I am really truly thrilled with this project, though; it's quick, personal, and practically free. Yes, yes, and yes PLEASE.

DIY Cork Gardening, fast craft for the weekend!

I saw some of these beauties on Pinterest and immediately sent the pin to my fab mother-in-law...which had absolutely nothing to do with our shared love of wine and her massive collection of wine corks. No not at all. ; ) They also happen to live in a desert-esque environment with plenty of gorgeous succulents to be found, so on the last day of our awesome vacay down there my MIL and I got crafty together and made some of these Pinterest inspired cork beauties.
