Wine Cork Rudolph

2013-12-03

DIY lovely Rudolph

Pinterest is a great thing: it helps us find inspiration when we need to decide what to make for parties, assists us when get dressed in the morning, and causes us to start every sentence with “so I saw this thing on Pinterest….” But it’s also a great resource for finding ways to repurpose things you have sitting around the house.

Enter wine cork Rudolph! I saw this pin and thought it was adorable, and the best part is it only takes about 5 minutes to make.

Here’s what you’ll need:
- 4 wine corks
- 1 small or medium red pom pom
- 2 medium wiggle eyes
- 2 Brown pipe cleaners
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon (optional, if you want to make this into an ornament)

The process is pretty self explanatory, just use 1 full wine cork for the body and then cut 2 wine corks in half to make legs. Cut the remaining cork in half to make a head and then attach everything to the body using a hot glue gun. I used a red pom pom for the nose and wiggle eyes, then made some antlers out of pieces of brown pipe cleaner. It’s a little different from the original pin, but I love how mine came out. You could easily tie a thin pieces of ribbon around the center of the body to make this a christmas ornament.
